Christmas with the Greats
We celebrated Christmas with Big and Little A's great grandparents yesterday (my grandparents-my mother's parents). We had a great time! They have a 2 story house and my genius grandfather built a laundry shoot in the upstairs bathroom. You drop your dirty laundry into the hidden hole in the bathroom and they fall down into a laundry basket in the laundry room downstairs. That thing has been there for about 50 years and all 4 of their kids had fun with it, all 9 grandchildren did it and it was only a matter of time until the great-grandchildren figured out how it worked. Well, yesterday Little A figured it out! We found Mammaw's hair stuff, Pappaw's CLEAN clothes, cat toys, shoes, etc.... in the laundry basket!!! He thought it was awesome!
Mammaw played the organ and piano at her church for many, many years. She still likes to play. She played Christmas carols on the piano while Big A sang along. It was too sweet! Big A is really starting to learn to play piano so it was neat to see Mammaw teaching her the different chords to each song.
After we played a little while longer, we ate dinner and opened gifts. The kids were really excited to give their gifts they made. It was neat to see them so excited to give as well as receive. One of their gifts from Mammaw and Pappaw were buggy glasses. When you put them on you see exactly how a bug would see. They loved it! (Big A loves bugs and Little A just loves anything gross!) They received PJ's too, we didn't dress them in PJ's all day!! LOL!!
